I would say that it is the smaller blog, the ones that get less traffic, are the better blogs. (It's not totally true, because most of the really small blogs are crap.)
They don't have anything to lose, so they might be more personal and honest.
The bigger ones have more to lose, so they play it safe.
So, the reality is, there are probably lots of blogs out there that are damn good, because they don't care what others think.
